Dual Flush Toilet Retrofit Kit
They’ve been popular world-wide for a decade, and finally eco-friendly dual-flush commodes have made it into popular culture in the US. Since this is still new, options are somewhat limited. Let’s say, like us, you want a comfort-height dual-flush toilet. So far, you’ve been limited to expensive Toto products that look great in a contemporary home. This year, Kohler finally stepped up with there slightly less expensive versions.
If that is still not practical for you, there is now a relatively inexpensive retrofit kit. Use this on your existing commodes or purchase a standard new (and less expensive), preferably water-wise, toilet and use this kit to create your own. We are using this on a Kohler comfort height toilet that was nearly free with the City of Austin’s toilet replacement rebate program. This kit should also work with the toilets from the City’s Toilet replacement program as well.
So where to get it? We found it on Amazon.com for about $20 after finding a blog post from a young family who has done this installation at their own home and plan to repeat the project on other toilets in their home.
